Persib Bandung Sign French Striker Andrew Jung to Bolster Title Push
Persib Bandung have made another bold move in the 2025/26 BRI Super League transfer market, officially announcing the signing of French forward Andrew Patrick Jung on Sunday, August 31, 2025. The unveiling coincided with the introduction of Dutch midfielder Eliano Reijnders, marking a significant reinforcement for the reigning champions. With Jung’s arrival, Persib have now filled their quota of 11 foreign players.
The 27-year-old striker joins from Greek side OFI Crete, where he featured in 24 matches last season, recording three goals and two assists in the domestic league. Prior to his stint in Greece, Jung spent much of his career in France—primarily in Ligue 2—while also experiencing spells in Belgium.
Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, Adhitia Putra Herawan, warmly welcomed the Frenchman to Bandung, a city currently chasing an unprecedented third consecutive league title.
“Wilujeng sumping, Andrew Patrick Jung. We believe his presence will bring new energy to the team and give even more pride to Bobotoh. Hopefully, this partnership will lead to great achievements throughout the duration of his contract,” said Adhitia.
The signing of Jung comes at the direct request of head coach Bojan Hodak, who has been eager to strengthen Persib’s attacking options. The move aligns with the club’s ambition to remain competitive on two fronts this season: the 2025/26 BRI Super League and the AFC Champions League Two (ACL 2).
“With the demanding schedule across two competitions, we need sharp and adaptable offensive options. Jung is expected to add a new dimension to our attack,” Adhitia explained.
Notably, Jung becomes the first French player ever to wear the Persib shirt—another historic milestone for the club.
With his addition, Persib now boast one of the most complete and diverse foreign lineups in the Super League. The Maung Bandung’s international roster features: Adam Przybek (Wales), Patricio Matricardi (Argentina), Luciano Guaycochea (Argentina), Frans Putros (Iraq), Federico Barba (Italy), Julio Cesar (Brazil), Wiliam Marcilio (Brazil), Uilliam Barros (Brazil), Berguinho (Brazil), Ramon Tanque (Brazil), and Andrew Jung (France).
