Persib Bandung Sign Indonesia International Eliano Reijnders on Two-Year Deal

Persib Bandung continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 BRI Super League season, officially announcing the signing of Eliano Johannes Reijnders, the Indonesian national team full-back, on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old defender is expected to add depth and bring fresh energy to Persib’s backline. According to PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat Deputy CEO Adhitia Putra Herawan, the move came at the direct recommendation of head coach Bojan Hodak.

“At his young age, we believe Eliano can make a significant contribution in helping the club achieve success this season, both domestically and in Asia,” Adhitia told Persib’s official website.

Career Path and International Choice

Born in Tampere, Finland, on October 23, 2000, Eliano began his professional career in the Netherlands with PEC Zwolle in 2018. He later spent time on loan with Jong Utrecht during the 2022/23 campaign before returning to Zwolle.

Now, he embarks on a new chapter in Indonesia with Persib Bandung. Football runs deep in the Reijnders family—Eliano is the younger brother of Tijjani Reijnders, a midfielder for Manchester City and the Dutch national team.

Unlike his brother, however, Eliano chose to switch allegiance to Indonesia in 2024. That decision quickly earned him a call-up to the national team, where he has already made three appearances for Garuda.

A New Hope for Maung Bandung

Standing at 168 cm, with top-flight Dutch football experience under his belt, Eliano is widely expected to adapt quickly to the intensity and atmosphere of Indonesian football. Persib hope his presence will enrich their defensive dynamics and bring greater stability at the back.

“Wilujeng sumping, Eliano. We are confident he will quickly blend into the team, experience the unique atmosphere of Indonesian football, and receive the full support of Bobotoh,” Adhitia added.

Persib’s acquisition of Eliano underscores the club’s determination to build a stronger, more competitive squad. His arrival not only strengthens the defense but also signals Persib’s ambition to compete at the highest level, both in Liga 1 and on the Asian stage.

With this latest addition, Persib remain optimistic about maintaining their winning tradition while continuing to give pride to their loyal supporters. The combination of Eliano’s growth, Persib’s ambition, and his role in the Indonesian national team is set to become one of the most intriguing storylines of the upcoming season.
