Persib Bandung's Andrew Jung Focused on AFC Champions League Two 2025/2026 Away Clash Against Bangkok United
“I think it’s going to be a good match,” said Jung, who wears the number 90 jersey for Persib. The French striker emphasized the difficulty of the encounter, noting that Bangkok United is coming off a strong start in the competition.
Before facing Persib, Bangkok United secured a commanding 4-2 victory over Selangor FC in their opening AFC Champions League Two match, which took place at the Petaling Jaya Stadium in Malaysia. In contrast, Persib had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Lion City Sailors in their Group G opener. Persib took the lead in the 47th minute, thanks to a strike from Saddil Ramdani, but the win slipped away in the dying moments of the match. In the 90+2 minute of injury time, Lion City Sailors equalized through Lennart Thy.
For Jung, the upcoming match presents a crucial opportunity for Persib to secure three points and strengthen their chances of advancing to the next stage of the competition. “They won their first game, and now we have to get a good result in the away match,” Jung said. "We need to be focused and give our best effort."
Despite the challenges ahead, Andrew Jung remains confident that Persib can achieve a positive result in Thailand. The experienced striker highlighted that the squad is filled with talented and experienced players, many of whom have international playing experience.
“We have a strong team, with many players who know how to perform at the highest level. We can get a good result, and we must do that,” Jung firmly stated.
Meanwhile, Persib’s squad has already departed for Thailand from Bali on Sunday, following their away match in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League against Persita Tangerang.
As Persib prepares for their crucial away trip, all eyes will be on how they can bounce back from their opening draw and challenge Bangkok United for the top spot in Group G of the AFC Champions League Two.
